POSITION SUMMARY & TRAINING STRUCTURE:

The Box Office Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the box office night of show, including managing comps and guest lists, controlling ticket inventory, troubleshooting customer and technology issues, and providing reporting for show settlement. The Box Office Supervisor will primarily work alongside operations managers and ticket sellers to execute a smooth event and experience for customers and artist teams alike. 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Independently oversee and manageall assigned box office supervisor responsibilities while maintaining a professional and organized demeanor for a wide range of live shows and events, including concerts, comedy shows, and theater performances.
  • Understand and efficiently operate all ticketing hardware and software including Boca printers, AXS scanners, APEX, Back Office, Flash Admin, and Box Office software, along with testing and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Oversee and facilitate all will call orders, including comps and all guest list credential distribution. 
  • Understand and report sold and unsold seat breakdown per event including ADA, and looking out for VIP, Premium, Vet Tix, and any other show-specific ticketing items, then communicating anything applicable to other staff.
  • Control ticket inventory, releasing holds at the discretion of the promoter rep and artist team, and distribute box office reporting (audits, premium reports, utilizations, etc.), ensuring promoter rep is clear on ticketing settlement.
  • Resolve customer issues with respect and a calm, solutions-based approach, doing your best to fix problems and prioritize getting fans in the door.
  • Effectively manage all forms of communication (email, text, in-person), responding in a reasonable timeframe and refining approach depending on velocity of event and/or touring party.
  • Update the box office show folder with any relevant notes or information, completing end of shift checking and ensuring all tasks are complete.

  • Knowledge, skill, and ability to independently plan, organize, and multitask to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and quickly adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge and ability to use discretion and handle confidential information with professionalism and tact.
  • Knowledge and ability to identify issues, quickly solve problems, and report concerns in a timely manner to prevent issues from arising or escalating.
  • Skill of verbal, non-verbal, written communication.
  • Ability to use a high level of attention to detail and competent computer skills.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 1-year related operations experience at both Palace Theatre and Fitzgerald Theater; with ticket seller involvement.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite and other basic computer and web-based programs.
  • Basic math skills, and good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on numerous projects simultaneously with aggressive deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow direction from clients and managers, with ambiguity to make decisions in real time.
