Before becoming a cornerstone of the national music scene and a Twin Cities cultural landmark, First Avenue was an art deco style Greyhound bus station built in 1937 called The Depot. In June 2010, the historic downtown Minneapolis nightclub opened The Depot Tavern, a new bar and restaurant next door to the 7th St Entry. Walls adorned with concert photography spanning the club’s 40-year history, and featuring live video feeds from both the Mainroom and the Entry on multiple widescreen televisions, The Depot Tavern is an exciting addition to the First Avenue family. Stop by for a bite and a drink before the show (or the game).
Starting July 1, The Depot Tavern will be open 4 p.m. – 11 p.m. every Wednesday through Saturday!
The Depot Tavern is following all health and safety best practices, including increased cleanings at tables and busy areas.
Masks are optional at this time, in accordance with MN statutes. Masks are available for purchase on site, and multiple sanitizer stations will be available throughout the restaurant.
All employees will receive a health screening prior to their shift and anyone experiencing symptoms will be sent home.
Each table will have QR codes to access menus from your phone.
Please note: Tickets for shows presented by First Avenue are NOT available for purchase in-person at The Depot Tavern at this time.
