Monday: Holy Moly | The Symptones | Planet Plookey
Holy Moly is a newly formed rock group started by 3 brothers, Adam, Joey & Sam Rivkin. They will be joined by guitarist and friend, Scotty Monten. Growing up surrounded by music, the brothers decided to band together to honor their influences. Next up are The Symptones, who are not an a cappella group, rather, a recently formed band that feeds off of each others’ diverse musical tastes and experiences to create a veritable casserole of rock, folk and soul. As far as Planet Plookey goes, they’re music for your ears. Enjoy!
Tuesday: The Jezabels
“What’s a girl to do, standing in the spotlight?” It’s a fine question to ponder as the curtain rises on The Jezabels’ third album, SYNTHIA. High expectations are a given now, seven years since those first EPs began their slow burn from Sydney to the world; four since PRISONER scooped the Australian Music Prize and set stages ablaze from Splendour to Lollapalooza. SYNTHIA is a bold assertion of craft that sets this band apart in a world groaning with blokes doing their best impersonation of rock authenticity.

Wednesday: Night Moves
Formed in 2009 in the Twin Cities, Night Moves is composed at its core of John Pelant and his 28-year-old partner in crime, Micky Alfano. When it comes to studying the canon of rock and roll studio wizardry, John Pelant is a Ph.D. student. The myriad sonic details that separate merely good records from masterpieces are the very particulars that Pelant revels in. This is apparent in the band’s most recent album, Pennied Days.

Thursday: HAPPY THANKSGIVING
Friday: The 4onthefloor
With the 4onthefloor’s third release, All In, frontman, Gabriel Douglas wants the band’s next album to be driving and immediate; something that speaks to the growing audience of the band. The band wanted to showcase their roots in blues and also the immediacy of post-pop punk with the hooks & sing-a-longs you’d find in all the best road trip anthems. All songs on this record were written with a notable high octane, and the furious delivery can be heard throughout the tracks. The 4onthefloor is setting out to stomp on in the footholds of rock’n’roll and light the fires where they need to be lit. Rock’n’roll is alive and well in this band.

Sunday: Real Numbers LP Release Show
Wordless Wonder is the long awaited full length from Real Numbers. It follows up a pair of 12″ EPs on Three Dimensional Records, a single on Florida’s Dying, and recent appearances on cassettes from Forged Artifacts and No Problem. Tenderly crafted by Matt Castore at his St. Paul, MN studio A Harder Commune from late 2015 to early 2016, it is presented on Slumberland Records for your enjoyment. Members of the band include Eli Hansen (Cozy, Boys Club, Retainers) on vocals and guitars, John Eggerman (Cozy, Private Interests, Mystery Date) on bass, and James Blackfield (France Camp, Nice Purse) on drums. The addition of full time lead guitar player Ian Nygaard (Nice Purse, Howler) reveals a much fuller sound while maintaining the band’s trademark DIY simplicity.
…bubbly, fun-loving garage pop. Their simplistic sound is characterized by delicate, lighthearted vocal tones and sweet, sugary guitar hooks… [styrofoamdrone.com].
