Monday: Hundred Waters
Hundred Waters came together in 2011 when four roommates started casually making music in their small college town, Gainesville, Florida. Soon after, they put out a self-titled debut, introducing their bewitching digital folk with no real expectations, and quickly became the first indie rockers to be invited to join the roster of EDM superstar Skrillex’s label, OWSLA. With the recent release of their second full-length, The Moon Rang Like A Bell, it’s hard to believe a band that started out with an already unique sound was able to grow so beautifully. Swapping comic folk for more of an electronic flavor. This time around, Hundred Waters put out a particularly instrumental album featuring majestic lyricism – ambient pop that transcends, making music really feel like magic.

Tuesday: Red Wanting Blue | The Alternate Routes
A quintessential example of American perseverance and hard work, Red Wanting Blue is built on an exceedingly loyal fan base and non-stop touring. Known for their engaging and passionate lives shows, Red Wanting Blue has appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman, VH1’s Big Morning Buzz Live, and NPR’s Mountain Stage. Red Wanting Blue will be joined by The Alternate Routes, a loud six piece American rock band. More than a decade into their career, The Alternate Routes have a talent for keeping things fresh, and keeping the shows rockin.

Wednesday: Devon Allman Band
Devon Allman, son of Gregg Allman of The Allman Brothers Band fame, is making music of his own. In fact, not only is he making music, he’s also making hot sauce! He explains on his website, “Even though my family is known for music and I travel the world performing, my other passion is cooking. Sauces have always been a favorite. I’m very pleased to put the Allman name on such a quality, all natural project. Hot smoky blues, hot smoky sauce. It just makes sense.” Devon is proving himself to be a true Jack-of-all-trades. More importantly though, Devon is making his own name in the music community. After playing as the driving force behind bands like Honeytribe and Royal Southern Brotherhood, Devon is stepping out on his own with his solo release, Turquoise.

Thursday: MC/VL
Mighty Clyde and Vicious Lee are back to rock the mic. Three and a half years after a farewell show at the departed 501 Club, the hip-hop duo MC/VL are dusting off their old-school rhymes — filled with braggadocio and name-drops of Twin Cities media professionals – for a one-off live experience on July 24. “We’re only doing this to annoy Chris Riemenschneider,” Vicious Lee told Gimme Noise. Indeed, MC/VL’s live audaciousness has been missed. Rumors are swirling that Lee will hop into an unmarked helicopter to leave the Twin Cities immediately after the concert — possibly before it even ends — so this could really be their last last show. MC/VL is known for their eclectic sampling, old-school beats and laying down sick rhymes. Remembered fondly for their boisterous and often half-naked shows, First Avenue is excited to welcome MC/VL back to the Entry!

Friday: Mrs. Glass | Ben Ballinger | Carson McHone
Austin Texas’ Finest tonight in the Entry! Mrs Glass, Ben Ballinger and Carson McHone make up the entire roster of Good Horse Record Company, and are making their way all the way up 35W to Minneapolis. Mrs Glass makes life into music, finding the balance between the pain, joy, grief, ecstasy, injustice and frivolity in his grungy voice and striking strumming. A true American troubadour, Ben Ballinger makes his roots with emotional depth and fine tuned melodies. To top off the night Carson McHone will take the stage. McHone is an Austin native, who after years of songwriting has dedicated herself to a life of music. Prepare for a little taste of the best of Texas!

Saturday: Adam Faucett & The Tall Grass
Folk, blues, stomp rock. No real need to classify Adam Faucett. With his unmistakable voice and emotionally raw tunes, Faucett moves beyond the labels of genre and pushes into the importance of the human experience. For the past two years, Faucett has been touring nationally and internationally in the support of his release More Like A Temple. Now, with the release of his newest LP, Blind Water Finds Blind Water, Faucett is making his way to the Entry. With the help of his band The Tall Grass, Blind Water Finds Blind Water, is deeply emotional, hauntingly melodic and impressively personal.

Sunday: Pigeon John featuring Tanya Morgan
LA rapper Pigeon John is an anomaly. Not only does his have a live show that will reportedly “have the ladies swooning,” but is also still devoted to developing as an artist. With five albums, Pigeon John is experienced to say the least. Known to longtime fans as the kid with the easy smile and clever flow, just getting started in the open-mic scene, he has also made waves internationally with his song “The Bomb” which was featured in popular Volkswagen commercial. Having spent much of the past year touring with the popular French turntablists C2C’s, we’re very excited to welcome Pigeon John to the Entry!
