MONDAY – Makebelief | Blackwood | Pale Spectre | Curt Oren
Tonight will be a variety night of sorts, hosting four groups in the Entry. The infamous stomping ground for budding local artists, and always a test for future and bigger success. Three of the groups are electronic-based, one distinctively punk. What does that mean for the listener? A night full of chillwave and shoegaze. Tycho-influenced MAKEBELIEF will be playing some of his new material from just a few months ago. His distant and acute work on his lo-fi chillwave tunes are sure to please the crowd, and he is being joined by fellow electronic producer Blackwood, whose newest single, 9th Gate reminds one of The Knife, providing eerie minimalistic electro-tunes, you’d be shocked came from San Diego. Local experimentalist Curt Oren will be joining them both, known for his avant-garde horn work and will be performing songs from his newest I Love My Dog record. Guitar aficionado Aaron Hammerly will be bringing his talents to the stage as well with his project, Pale Spectre.

TUESDAY – Mad Rounds | What Tyrants | Fret Rattles | New Rocket Union
A power rock trio, a fuzz-punk trio, a classic rock ‘n roll group, and a post-garage-minimalist duo will be taking the stage this Tuesday night at the Turf Club, headlining a local rock night. Mad Rounds is an original and vibrant group, featuring Robert Russel on lead guitar and vocals, Jody Kimmell on drums and Guy Low on bass. The crew plays some heavy angular rock tracks that remind of older surf-rock. Percussive and electric trio What Tyrants produce heavy noise-punk music, with many of the members being lifelong musicians. They can be reckless or slow, moving between the two with ease. All four groups are sure to play some incredible sets, so any local rock fans out there, make sure to arrive early! Doors at nine, see you Tuesday!

WEDNESDAY – Anti-Human – Live Electronic Music v2.1
The Entry will be hosting several fresh electronic acts this Wednesday night, all from around here in the Midwest. Anti-Human / Live Electronic Music 2.1 will be taking over this week, featuring several promising electronic groups including Naughty Wood, Sentry, Yellow Hyper Balls, Sunk, and Heckadecimal. Naughty Wood will be blasting his mixes, also available on his website, which include originals as well as several reputable remixes – with the ability to even speed up music from The xx. Alias of music producer Kaya, Sentry will also be joining Naughty Wood on the bill. His high-energy future-rave music is sure to turn heads and movie bodies. Dark music extraordinaire, Sunk, will be playing a set as well. His lo-fi, scary, dark production is sure to be appreciated by fans of Haxan Cloak or Burial. Don’t miss these 22nd century artists this Wednesday night.

THURSDAY – WILD CHILD
Twangy wordsmiths Wild Child will be hosting their first show in the Entry, after their Minneapolis debut at the Icehouse a few years ago. The group of six has played Austin City Limits, Firefly, Bonnaroo and Osheaga just in the past year, and have been spending the colder months touring the U.S. Their second release, The Roundaround was released under Noise Company, a record label run by Ben Kweller and have garnered some serious attention on their social media pages, being streamed around the world and turning them into an indie buzz band within no time. They’ve seen serious airplay and attention on Hype Machine, Soundcloud and YouTube even with their gorgeous tracks such as “Living Tree”, which was named one of NPR’s Top 10 songs of 2013. Many have dubbed them as Austin’s next big thing, so see for yourself this Thursday in the Entry.

FRIDAY – THE GREEN
In 2010 The Green released their self-titled debut, throwing it back with reggae roots not seen since Marley. Though forming in Hawaii, the group is heavily influenced by Jamaican reggae, setting sales records in the category since forming. With so much abrasiveness and relentlessness in some records today, it is so refreshing to hear a group like The Green, blending traditional Hawaiian vibes with old-school reggae roots present. They’ve since performed to critical and popular acclaim, charting regularly on Billboard’s Reggae charts with their 2013 release of Hawaii 13. They’ve got fast, slow, and catchy tunes, so be sure not to miss this amazing six-piece reggae troupe on Friday.

SATURDAY – ELLIOTT BROOD
Avant-garde country band Elliot Brood will be performing in the Entry this weekend, in a stark change-up from the previous night’s genre– something that makes First Ave and especially the 7th St Entry unique. This neo-bluegrass group have been around since forming back in high school in 2002. They’ve been described in many ways, such as “frontier rock”, “revival music” and even “death country”. The group is a master of production and musicianship– working between the three of them on countless instruments and pedals which are scattered throughout their discography. Their second record was met with heavy acclaim, being considered for Canada’s most prestigious award, the Polaris Music Prize in 2009. The band has toured with the likes of Wilco, War on Drugs, and the legendary Black Crowes. This’ll be their third show here in the Entry, but first in over three years, come support this fine Canadian rock band this Saturday night.

SUNDAY – CAMPAIGN II CHAMPAGNE II
Sunday night we will be hosting a special event in the Entry, featuring a curated lineup of budding rappers who’s home is at the infamous Nu Music Group. It’ll be a wild show, doubling as a mixtape release party of the Campaign 2 Champagne Compilation album. Music will be starting at 9 for this exciting night with a full bill of young hip-hop artists on the Nu Music Group label. Notably, 7th St veteran Suga Shane will be performing Sunday, who put on a hell of a show recently in the same venue. Notorious MC Mulaah The Real will be hosting the event, with music by local DJ Laylow. Many of these artists are locally famous for their house party sets, and small venue shows, but this will be a great chance to catch all of the talent behind Nu Music Group on one stage. We’ll see you Sunday night at Campaign II Champagne.
