The ascending teen garage punk group Stereo Confession will play an all-ages show on Sunday, Oct. 12 at the 7th St. Entry. The show comes in anticipation of its new album, No Coast, to be released Oct. 14.

The band signed this month with Susstones Records and recorded the full-length debutat producer Ed Ackerson’s revered Flowers Studio. The album includes summer crowd pleasers “Video Games” and “Hang Ten,” plus eight more strumming surf tracks.

Despite four of five members being too young to vote, the growing band have been together in some form or another for three years. Starting out as a trio, the group rounded out its sound this year with the addition of two new members, one as recently as July when the band won the opening slot in the Basilica Block Party’s music lineup.

The bandmates channel their frustration with high school into music with antics like covering an unfit-for-print Replacements song at the beginning of the school year, they told David Campbell on the Current’s back-to-school edition of the Local Show on Sunday.

Once they escape the school lunches and anti-hat policies, the plan is to move into a house in Northeast Minneapolis where the band can make more music together. Until then, they have a much more official house party to rock at the Entry.

Hey! That’s us! And it’s tomorrow!
