Minneapolis native Caroline Smith cut her teeth in the Twin Cities music scene before relocating to Los Angeles in 2015. Inspired by the history of Laurel Canyon that has been immortalized in music through the ages. Smith concocted her own sound bringing together the funk / R&B “Minneapolis Sound” of her roots and the classic songwriting of her LA heroes. Legacy fans have seen her move through various iterations including her folk band Caroline Smith & The Good Night Sleeps, to her R&B solo debut, and finally performing under her new moniker, Your Smith.
In 2013, Smith released the seminal solo release Half About Being a Woman that solidified her legacy in the Twin Cities music scene. Mixing together the influences of R&B, neo-soul, and classic songwriting, Half About Being a Woman has built a cult following among those who have ever gotten their heart broken.
