Denise "Xten" Lewis is much more than the Afro-Pop and R&B Goddess that you have heard of. The Liberian Hip-Hop phenomenon is inspired by those close to her, like her mother, who has always pushed Xten to chase her dreams. Xten’s other muse is the self-proclaimed "King of Pop" and because of this, Michael Jackson is often heard in the background as she gears up to write her next songbook of hits. Growing up in an area not known for prosperity has given Xten a perspective often lost on artists of her generation.

The undying need to create music that will speak to the general public and express her gratitude for the lessons she learned as a young woman in Liberia is her driving force. Her relentless dedication to her art and her commitment to making her homeland a better place is what has made Xten the international success that she currently is. With the debut of two hit singles, "Drop it for me" and "Juka," Xten was recognized in Minnesota when she won a Torchlight Award for Best Female Artist. Xten was nominated for two other impressive awards during the ceremony.
