From sketchbooks to rhymes performer, filmmaker, creative director, community artist and designer, Tt The Artist prepares to paint the world with visual language. Through art and music, this artist creates a well-blended sound of hip hop, pop, club and EDM.
Born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, it was as a high school student when Tedra Wilson discovered her fearless approach to performance. A college-graduate from The Maryland Institute College Of Art (MICA) with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and a concentration in video, Tedra now known as "Tt The Artist," postponed pursuing a career in music to make education her number one priority.
While attending MICA in Baltimore, MD, Tt became very involved within various community projects and student organizations within the Baltimore Community. Baltimore soon became Tt's second home where she began to tap into her desire to express herself through the many creative outlets. Baltimore enabled Tt to test the waters and create a reputable name for herself within the local music scene. By the end of her junior year at MICA, Tt had successfully secured an internship at MTV Networks in New York, NY where she explored her interest in television production both in front of the camera and behind the scenes. After two years of living in New York City, Tt returned to Baltimore to further pursue her passion in music. Tt showcased her innovative style through live, artistic performances at performance venues throughout the East Coast.
At the peak of 2010, TT The Artist alongside Dj Devin Byrnes, Boston bred electro producer, opened up for dance, dj and musical performer Dan Deacon and psych-rock, synth-pop, hip-hop duo, Phantogram. Soon after, Tt teamed up with the well-known dance dj and producer, Will Eastman, and opened up for the electronic duo, Thunderheist at the trendy and hip performance venue the BLACKCAT, in Washington, DC. Following her collaboration with Eastman, Tt performed for a massive crowd of hype, young, dance party goers at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC, as a part of the Blisspop dance party series featuring International superstars Tittsworth and Nadastrom.
Tt has performed alongside high profile hip hop musical acts such as Oj Da Juice Man, Rich Boy, Cali Swag District, Trina, Teyana Taylor , Yo Gotti, Angel Haze and Ab Soul. Tt was also the opening act for a Wale and Lyfe Jennings episode of “HIP HOP RAW AND UNCUT” that aired nation wide on the STARRZ IN BLACK network. As a multi facet artist, Tt caught the attention of executive producers of CW network's Keepin It Real Tv, and was selected to be a regular host on the television show. Tt's experience in production behind the scenes also led her to co-produce a Baltimore based radio show "Off The Edge Radio."
As a rising talent, both internet media and press such as VICE, V magazine, The Baltimore Sun, Complex , Fact Magazine, Pitchfork, The Baltimore Citypaper and more have highlighted Tt's work. Today, Tt's music can be heard in regular rotation on local and international radio. Tt has also rocked crowds with her fist pumping and high energy performances sharing stages nationally and globally with artists such as Big Freedia, Peaches, Crystal Waters and more.
In the Spring of 2013 Rusty Lazer, New Orleans Dj and manager to hot Indie musical acts such as Nicky Da B and former manager of Big Freedia, reached out to Tt to spark off a major collaboration with the grammy nominated producer Diplo. Tt's vocals were featured on "Dat A Freak," and released under Diplo's Mad Decent record label as a single. Following her collaboration with Diplo, a year later pop icon Jennifer Lopez reached out to Diplo for her single "Booty" sampled from Diplo's collaboration with Tt on the Dat A Freak record.
Tt makes way to release new music and has been building up her buzz through the edm, hip hop and club music scenes. In the summer of 2015, Red Bull Music Academy took notice of Tt's musical talents and selected her as 1 out 20 artists in the U.S. to feature in the Bonneroo Red bull Music Academy Bass Camp and later on featured her on the United States of Bass Miami with the legendary Uncle Luke. Showcasing for the first time at SXSW music festival 2016, TT brought her club banging and fiery raps to the Lose Control showcase where she played alongside Brenmar, Dj Sliink and Dj Shiftee.
On the verge of a break out year, Tt has been featured on releases this year including Sinden's Crystal Maze EP," Hervé's Dance to my Beat EP," AC Slater's Bass Inside, and Baauer's debut album Aa, alongside major acts Pusha T, Future and MIA. Her collaboration with Baauer "Make It Bang" landed her front and center at the Coachella 2016 music festival where she performed in front of a massive crowd of over 50,000 festival goers.
Presently, she sets the stage to release her debut album Queen of the Beat in the Spring of 2016. Her past releases Art Royalty and Gimme Yo Love EPs are blazing up the dance floors and dj sets globally. With 2 tours under her belt and a third on the way "...All Hail the Queen," quotes the Baltimore Sun newspaper as they address her journey from a sheltered upbringing to holding the title as the new self proclaimed club Queen. There are no limits to Tt's vibrant, party-starting, cross between melodies and provocative raps as she to paints a new spectrum of colors to the music scene.
