During the infrequent, short live sets he plays under the name Trin Tran, Madison's Steve Coombs is one bizarrely over-occupied dude. All four limbs at work, he simultaneously handles drums, guitar, and analog synths, gasping and shrieking along with his staccato new-wave rhythms and hooks. For a music project that feels like a bunch of eccentric habits combined, Trin-Tran's certainly fun to rock and twitch along to in a live setting. [AV Club, 2010]
