the Silver Palms

Hailing from the rural swampland of Camden, Georgia, the Silver Palms consist of twin brothers Adam (guitar) and Dalton Drury (vocals/guitar) and their childhood best friends Jordan Scott (drums) and Wade Beahm (bass). They started playing music together their senior year in high school, in 2011. “We’re influenced by an attitude, not a sound,” says Dalton. “We originally got inspired by people like Johnny Cash and bands like Oasis. Y’know — people that mean it, but don’t give a fuck what anyone thinks about them.”

Due out March 11, their new single for Canvasclub, “Superstar” b/w “Inevitable,” follows their “Georgia Boy” debut track, which surfaced online last fall. Like “Georgia Boy,” these songs were recorded with producer Alalal (Klaxons, Metronomy). In addition to upcoming tours with The Orwells and with Jake Bugg, the band will play their first South By Southwest in March, the same week the single comes out.

Meanwhile, they’ve already amassed more than a dozen demos of songs for their debut album, which they plan to release later this year. “We record live to tape,” says Adam. “What you hear is what you get. It’s honest and that’s what we’re about. We’re just doing our own thing. We’re used to not fitting in anyway.” Adds Dalton: “I make music because, growing up, I could rely on music almost like a friend. If we can make music for other people to hang onto like a friend, then our job is done.”
