Acclaimed independent label Dangerbird has announced the signing of eclectic California rockers The Fling to their growing roster of artists. The Long Beach-based band is currently prepping their forthcoming album to be released on Dangerbird in 2011; in the meantime, the hard-working group is embarking on a busy touring schedule that is sure to secure their reputation as a formidable live act.

The Fling has just completed national tour dates with their new Dangerbird labelmates Darker My Love, with the two acts appearing as special guests of headliners Delta Spirit. The Fling will soon bring their eclectic mix of folk, rock, pop and psychedelic music to a January 2011 residency at famed Silver Lake hotspot Spaceland, followed later in the year by their debut Dangerbird release. The band’s previous album, 2010’s When the Madhouses Appear, was praised by the LA Record as “heartfelt and personal,” while Creative Loafing described it as “beautifully melodic and well-textured songwriting.”
