The Downtown Fiction

Founded in the suburbs of Northern Virginia, The Downtown Fiction rose to national acclaim riding the currents of their captivating live shows and explosive anthems, “I Just Wanna Run” and “Thanks For Nothing,” from the band’s debut full-length album, Let’s Be Animals. The band, comprised of Cameron Leahy (lead vocals, guitar), David Pavluk (bass, backing vocals), Wes Dimond (lead guitar) and Kyle Rodgers (drums), returns with its newest release, Pineapple EP, which displays sharpened hooks while exploring new sonic territory.

Formed in 2008, Leahy met Pavluk at a local venue and shortly after decided to try their hand at playing music together. After posting their music online, they quickly garnered a rabid following which caught the attention of Photo Finish Records in 2009. The label would later sign the band and release their first official record, Best I Never Had EP. Dimond and Rodgers later joined in 2011, rounding out the lineup. The band continued their evolution on Let’s Be Animals, drawing from an eclectic pool of classic rock influences without losing any of the infectious melodicism and thoughtful lyricism that originally propelled them into the world of rock that matters. That balance between a raucous musical undercurrent and sharp pop bliss is immediately evident on the album’s leadoff single, “I Just Wanna Run.” The song has already dug itself into pop culture via high-profile placements on the second season premiere of MTV’s The Jersey Shore as well as The Hard Times of RJ Berger, The Hills, and Keeping Up with the Kardashians. After sharing bills all over the world with everyone from All Time Low to The Strokes, The Downtown Fiction has been acclaimed by fans and reviewers for their exciting and fast-paced live shows.
