The Commonly Misspelled is the musical project of producer, singer, and songwriter Bob Korkowski. Originally from the Twin Cities, Korkowski released his first album, I'm Hiding, in 2020 just before the onset of the pandemic. After his first headlining shows in Minneapolis were soon followed by the eventual closures of venues across the country, he returned to his band Rose Pools to work on new music, putting his solo work on the shelf. After a series of personal tragedies that ensued over the next year, including the death of a close friend, Korkowski began writing and producing again with the intent of bringing back The Commonly Misspelled as an outlet for his grief. What was supposed to be a one-off led to months of tweaking, re-recording, and long late night writing sessions. Korkowski released his first song in two years, "Swing Back", in April 2022. He followed that with his song "Sober", a song less about sobriety and more about an attempt to regain a grasp of reality after living in an episode. His forthcoming second album will be released sometime in 2023.
