Sweet Cyanide

New York City's favorite bastard sons returned exactly one year later with a new record and a national tour that has not relented since the release of their critically-acclaimed self-titled debut in August 2009. Sweet Cyanide spent the greater part of 2009 becoming a favorite opener of rock heavy hitters: Halestorm, Bullet For My Valentine, Pop Evil, Extreme, and Charm City Devils; the latter becoming a regular touring partner on the east coast. "We've learned a lot in the past year but changed very little. We always knew what needed to be done to succeed in the music industry and this band is angrier and more determined now than ever before" says vocalist Scoca. And anger would definitely be a key ingredient to the new Sweet Cyanide sound, but, Scoca continues, "not how one would expect the anger to be expressed. It's not through massive guitars, bass, and drums. Those elements were always there, it's more through lyrics and song arrangements."

From the opening tracks 'Pay the Piper' and the thunderous track, 'Lessons' straight through to the closing epic power-ballad 'Solitary Son', one can be sure that Sweet Cyanide means business. Sam Frank from Unrated NYC recently stated in regards to SCII," With Stellar songs like 'Bad Jesus,' 'Red Rats,' and my personal favorite, 'Dirty Sexy Pig,' the album should have been titled kick your ass and leave you begging for more because that is exactly what it does." The first single, 'Bad Jesus', has already begun to make waves in the stale modern radio rock scene while the extremely racy music video has testosterone pumping all over Youtube, it's a must see. Scoca explains, "I know when people hear this record, their gonna realize what they've been missing from Rock n' Roll for the past 15 years." Continuous touring since 2009 has positioned Sweet Cyanide to play headlining gigs in NYC, as well as earning them a slot as main stage performers at 2010's Sturgis festival with Hinder, Three Doors Down, and Alice in Chains. Cynical, vicious, and arrogant, Sweet Cyanide are ready to prove a point and crush the competition.
