For over two decades, Southside Aces have brought the sounds of early jazz to the Twin Cities and beyond. They sparked last year’s Roaring ‘20s party at the Turf Club, and are ready to celebrate F. Scott’s birthday even harder on this, the centennial of his epic novel, The Great Gatsby. Highlights of the band’s Jazz Age resume include the after party for the 2017 F. Scott Fitzgerald Society world conference, as well as for the past four years leading their own festival dedicated to 1920s and '30s music, "Jazz Age Rumpus." From the mysterious rhythms of the Cotton Club Duke Ellington, to the jazz Impressionism of Bix Beiderbecke, to the unbridled Chicago joys of a young Louis Armstrong, Southside Aces will turn the Turf Club into a West Egg outpost.
