SOREN JUUL

2013 was to prove pivotal for Søren Juul; a record deal with 4AD freshly signed, life soon sped up for him. His debut album (Somewhere Else, released under the unassuming alias of Indians) and multiple tours of Europe and the States soon followed. He even temporarily relocated from Copenhagen for stints in both New York and Portland. Just when the album cycle was tailing off, he was invited to score a key scene in the hugely anticipated film adaptation of John Green's cult novel, The Fault in Our Stars.

Now back home and with city life swapped for the calm of Svendborg (an ancient coastal town in Denmark's South Eastern corner), Søren seems to have found the perfect balance. You can hear it too. With a better studio at his disposal and a band to now call upon, he's making music that's a clear stepup in both scope and ambition. Today, Søren's airing 'Ambitions', the first track to be heard from these sessions. Taken from a self-titled EP out this September, 'Ambitions' charts the hard yards that accompanied his travels and missing home, building a euphoric charm in a way only Scandinavian artists seem capable of. The new album is close to completion and will be released next year.
