Born and raised in Stockholm, Snoh Aalegra grew up with a passion for music, influenced by iconic artists like Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and Michael Jackson. She started writing and singing at only age 9 and signed her first record deal at age 14. Her pursuit for a music career took her from Sweden to London and eventually to Los Angeles. She signed with Epic Records and released her debut EP There Will Be Sunshine in Fall 2014, which featured an appearance by Common. Following the release, Snoh connected with Kanye West hitmaker and producer, No I.D., who signed her to his label, Artium Records, and worked with her to create her EP, Don't Explain.
Don't Explain was released in April 2016 and includes a collaboration with renowned producer James Fauntleroy. A year later, Aalegra released her 13-track debut album, FEELS. The album consisted of features from Logic, Vic Mensa, Vince Staples, and Timbuktu. Her music is deeply inspired by idols Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and Whitney Houston. Snoh Aalegra's raspy vocals and soulful sound create a unique and beautiful R&B style, bringing R&B to forefront of the constantly increasing mix of international music emerging out of Sweden.
