Country singer/songwriter Shelley Skidmore grew up in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Stanton, Kentucky. Having grown up in a musical family, Shelley has been singing ever since she can remember. At the tender age of five, she started singing in church and went on to perform at various events around Eastern Kentucky. She played mandolin in a bluegrass band and later joined the performing cast of the Renfro Valley Jamboree.
Shelley moved to Nashville to attend Belmont University where she earned her degree in Music Business. She signed a publishing deal with Wrensong Music Publishing in 2013 and is currently in the studio working on new music with Grammy winning producer, Paul Worley. Shelley is a regular artist at the legendary Grand Ole Opry and her songs “Done Runnin'” and “I’ve Got You And You’ve Got Me” have been featured on ABC’s primetime series Nashville.
