Second Hand Dan is a Minnesotan indie folk/rock band with two lead singers and a horn section. Since the release of their debut album at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, they've been performing at local venues and have opened for nationally touring acts. The core of the band (fka Scalise) has been gigging around the Twin Cities for over ten years, starting at the age of 13. The group released their 18-track sophomore album in June of 2023. The LP received critical praise as number three on TrackXTrack's "The Top Ten Best Albums of 2023" list.
Graden Hill (guitar/vocals) and Ben Schwartz (drums) started the band as a duo that slowly formed into a larger group over their high school years. The group added George Knier (keys), Rachel Scott (bass/vocals), Collyn Camara (lead guitar/trombone), and occasional member Sarah Navratil (saxophone) to the lineup.
