Sean O’Connell

Sean O’Connell is a musical extremist. Similar to a method actor in film, Sean completely devotes himself to the demands of his projects and treats each album as a singular piece of artwork, to be dutifully worked and re-worked from beginning to end, with each song telling its own unique part of a larger story. Sean’s latest release Free At First Light is journey that begins amidst a mess of hardship & confusion and ends in a place of optimism & resolution. Sean believes that his growth musically is directly tied to his growth as a person and that recording an album is how he sorts himself out, and that finishing the album means there is nothing left to address and that he may return to life to fill the problem basket once more.

Sean is a completely self taught musician, singer, producer, engineer/mixer and is a fan of all music. It was Sean, along with Damon Dash's nephew; rapper Da$h, who first introduced Damon to the music of Curren$y. This relationship quickly developed into a working relationship between Curren$y and Sean on the Muscle Car Chronicles, a film and album project with an expected release date for 2011. Also, featured on the Muscle Car project was fellow Bluroc artist, McKenzie Eddy. Sean and McKenzie have been collaborative musical partners since their college days at the University of South Carolina. McKenzie sings on every song on Free at First Light.
