SCOTT BERMAN & DAVID SANDERSFELD (The Reckless)

In the dead of winter 2012, it brought Minneapolis-based indie rock band The Reckless together when lead guitarist Scott Berman accidentally emailed singer David Sandersfeld responding to the wrong Craig’s List posting, where he inquired about joining a different band. In a stroke of good luck, Sandersfeld and drummer Jason Worrell had been coincidentally looking for a new guitarist for an indie rock band that was fun and catchy, but also artistic and introspective -- fusing alternative and ambient rock elements with energetic live improvisation. Feeling a special chemistry off the bat, The Reckless was formed.

The Reckless began playing the Minneapolis club circuit, and after recruiting bassist Adam Couch, released their debut LP, Keep It Together, in late 2013 at First Avenue’s 7th Street Entry. The album was described by The Mankato Free Press as "a surreal headtrip" with "poppy, new age swagger." The band's sound has been compared to the likes of Kings of Leon, Radiohead, and Coldplay, Subsequently sharing the stage with gold and platinum alternative rock acts like Dada and Everclear, The Reckless has been gaining momentum in the alternative rock scene.
