The musical alter-ego of musician Steve Kaupa. Formed in the mind of a skinny and boney metalhead in 2009; Kaupa recorded the first of many tracks that he has been writing since his freshman year of college. After gaining wisdom and experience throughout the years of playing in bands, melting faces, and hippie jamming; Kaupa begins work on his first ever solo project. Steven Andrew Kaupa becomes Sad SAKabones.Sad Sakabones is a young and upcoming artist from the Twin Cities, MN. Elements of acoustic, electro, and ambient alternative music were used to create a collection of songs featuring chilling melodies, vocal harmonies, and slow-tempo drumbeats. All music and sounds were written, recorded, performed/programmed by Steve Kaupa. Kaupa is the only official member of Sad Sakabones and he produced/recorded his debut album Songs For Lonely Souls solely by himself. The production may be a bit rough, but this album serves as a good demonstration of an independent musician making a genuine artistic statement using the tools he has around him. Songs For Lonely Souls was made available for download in December of 2009. After completing his debut album, Kaupa calls upon the help of two other musicians whom he has worked with in the past. With the goal of playing live shows in mind, Kaupa has appointed Steve Saunders to play live bass guitar and Jerry Sparkman to perform live drums. Starting in February 2010 the three members have been rehearsing in a Saint Paul studio to prepare for a string of Summer Live Performances across the Twin Cities, MN.
