Anglo/Irish singer-songwriter Rosie Carney returns with “dad”, the electric first single off her upcoming second LP, i wanna feel happy. Born from the anxiety of pandemic-amplified social media pressures, i wanna feel happy explores Rosie's personal mental health struggles against the backdrop of navigating a musical career in 2022.
In the three years since her debut LP, Bare, which NPR described as capturing “the weary grace of a survivor who’s located the source of her strength,” Rosie has continuously raised her profile with select collaborations including Lisa Hannigan and The Paper Kites. She has amassed over 200 million streams and counts Aaron Dessner, Lily James, Robin Pecknold, and Cigarettes After Sex among her followers.
Rosie's 2020 EP, i dreamed i was the night, was co-produced with Thomas Bartlett, known for his Oscar and Grammy-nominated work with Sufjan Stevens and Florence & The Machine. In 2021, she covered all of Radiohead's The Bends during lockdown.
