Ending with a sold-out headlining show at Denver’s Larimer Lounge on New Year’s Eve at, it’s pretty safe to say that 2014 was a hell of a year for the electro-pop band Rose Quartz. The newly-formed Denver group was fortunate to spent the year sharing stages with the likes of Future Islands, Cut Copy, MS MR, St. Lucia, !!! (Chk Chk Chk) and STRFKR, and have recently morphed from a vocal/production duo to a full 4-piece live outfit.
They were also picked up by energy drink conglomerate Red Bull as part of their national “Sound Select” artist program, and have performed at the sold-out show series #30daysinLA and Red Bull’s Tour Bus through the Midwest. On January 6, Rose Quartz released their first official EP Axis of Love, which the Music Ninja calls some of “the richest 17 minutes of music we’ve featured all year” and Met Media refers to as “some of the perkiest and genuine disco meets synth-pop meets house grooves that one could ask for.”
