Fort Worth, TX singer-songwriter Robert Ellis has spent over a decade defying easy categorization, moving fluidly between country, pop, and jazz across albums like Photographs, The Lights from the Chemical Plant, and 2019's Texas Piano Man — the record that earned him his enduring nickname. His stripped-down 2023 album Yesterday's News found him at his most intimate, trading arrangements for quiet reflection.
Now Ellis is heading back where he started. His forthcoming album (title and release date to be announced) marks a deliberate return to roots, leaning into classic country. To bring it to life, he's assembling a full band for the road for the first time in years, kicking off his 2026–2027 Country Tour of the Country Tour of the Country, Tour.
