Quinn Tsan is a singer-songwriter based in Chicago, IL. Classically trained in dance, Tsan relocated from Minneapolis in 2008 to pursue her interest in music and found her beginnings singing back-up for Joe Pug. After five years of experimentation with back-up singing for acts including Rachele Eve, Yoome, and Sima Cunningham, Tsan began playing her own music to receptive audiences and quickly went on to form a band with Chicago players Michael Golas (Exit Ghost), Tim Young (Passerines), and Raul Callejero (Kelsey Wild, Gia Margaret.)
Tsan’s luxurious vocals and timeless poetic lyricism, built atop melancholic folk riffs, strike as “precise and painfully familiar” (-AZmosis), with a timbre comparable to Karen Dalton and versatile instrumentation resembling the softer sides of Sharon Van Etten or Mazzy Star. Tsan’s work is deeply personal and forges a profound connection between music and listener by eloquently portraying the veracity of the human experience.
