The rapper, investor, neighborhood philanthropist, and Boyz Entertainment Record Label Founder, Peezy is the Godfather of his city’s buzzing rap scene and an industry mogul who’s played an influential role in the rise of Detroit. As a member of Detroit's local and legendary Team Eastside, alongside other stars like Babyface Ray and Damedot, Peezy helped to lay the groundwork for Detroit Street Rap and its current global dominance. Along with other artist collectives like the Doughboyz Cashout crew, Peezy and Team Eastside were pivotal in the unification of Detroit’s Hip-Hop community, putting their differences aside to help to propel their scene’s meteoric rise to the national level. Consistently rapping with an icy, unaffected, and cool demeanor, Peezy spins detailed stories from the streets of Detroit with clever one-liners and sobering truths about the highs and lows of his fast-paced lifestyle. These characteristics resulted in Peezy landing his first mainstream hit last year, with the release of his summer anthem, “2 Million Up” (125M+ Streams) which peaked at No. 8 on Billboard’s Hip-Hop Chart. His years of experience make Peezy an undeniable oracle for Detroit, with his songs not only vividly recounting past events, but also simultaneously looking forward towards the future of his beloved city.

Growing up on Detroit’s east side and listening to legendary artists from the Golden era of Hip-Hop like Ice Cube & 2Pac, Peezy knew from the moment he penned his first 16-bar verse that Rap was his path forward. Although Peezy began releasing music as early as 2012, it wasn’t until his 2016 MudMuzik mixtape series caught fire around the city that his locally-praised name & music began to be recognized as a mainstay in modern Hip-Hop.

Continuing with his singularly-focused No Hook series in 2018 where he flaunted his technical rap prowess without the reliance on catchy choruses, Peezy gradually gained momentum until legal troubles began to catch up with him in 2019. Right as the Detroit Rap scene which he helped to cultivate began exploding in popularity, Peezy was forced into incarceration for two years. Despite being locked up though, he continued to drop new music and keep his foot on the gas with his 2021 mixtape, Free Rio, which featured notable tracks like “Build A Bear” (40M Streams) & “Perc 10” (15M Streams).

Returning from jail in 2022, more focused than ever, Peezy seized the moment with the release of his Billboard Top 10 charting, RIAA Gold-Certified hit, “2 Million Up”. The single was off his breakthrough project, last year’s ONLY BUILT 4 DIAMOND LINKS, which found Peezy garnering mainstream respect nearly a decade into his career, without sacrificing his signature street flair. The project also included other hits like “Hustler Vs. Scammer” (14M+ Streams), as well as collaborations with heavyweights like G Herbo and Mozzy, going on to receive critical praise from the likes of Pitchfork, The FADER, XXL, HipHopDX & more.

Now in 2023, having built a solid foundation and clamoring fanbase, Peezy has finally found his footing. He launched into the year with two strong new projects, a joint EP with Baltimore’s rising star YG Teck called Champain, which showcased Peezy’s unique ability to fuse styles, and his own solo EP, GHETTO, on which he sought to take the term, often used to discredit and criticize Black America, and position it as a beacon of strength that portrays a nuanced and multifaceted lifestyle. Peezy has also pushed to further elevate the careers of his state’s most inventive artists with his label, Boyz Entertainment and recent signees RMC Mike and Rio Da Yung OG. Continuing to fully embrace his role as an OG in Detroit, Peezy stated “I'm a CEO, I like to make other people rich. I believe that you're going to make more of an impact by teaching than taking all the work.” In the process, Peezy has consistently been putting out the most authentic music possible while staying true to himself & his city’s ever-growing wave.
