Prince discovered Paul Peterson, aka “St Paul,” at the age of 17. He enlisted him as a keyboard player in The Time for the movie Purple Rain. Paul took the lead vocalist spot in the Prince produced group The Family before becoming a solo artist and scoring hits for MCA and Atlantic Records. He has reformed The Family as fDeluxe with 4 of the 5 original members.
Paul is also the Program Chair for Recording and Technology at Minneapolis Media Institute in Edina, MN. He has recorded, toured or written with Steve Miller, Prince, George Benson, The Corrs, Jeff Lorber, Oleta Adams, David Sanborn, Donny Osmond, Kenny Loggins, Stevie Wonder, and Sergio Mendez to name a few.
