Northern Hammer

Northern Hammer is a two-piece sludge-blues/power slop band hailing from Stillwater, Minnesota, and currently based in St. Paul, Minnesota. Scott Skoog on the drums and vocals and Nick Streine on the baritone guitar. Don’t expect expert musicianship but be prepared for a cathartic sonic explosion with dark sounds, positive energy, and a wall of fuzz! It is a dose of Electric Medicine!

These two goofy doomers started practicing covers of Weedeater, Bongzilla, Dopethrone, Sleep, Acid King, The Black Keys, Jimi Hendrix, and The Stooges at a print shop just outside Minneapolis, then in a sweaty basement in NE Minneapolis. After years of gelling and marination, they have incorporated heavy sludge/doom, psychedelic blues, and drone music into their sound. This cultivates a ‘Conan meets The Black Keys’ sound they are shooting for. Their music is created from love and catharsis.
