The press has difficulty describing Brattleboro, VT's Moxie. Warm adjectives like "Effervescent" and "Soulful" have been used to describe their comforting indie-rock; still, with two full length LPs, few can accurately articulate what makes the independent outfit so addictive. Nestled atop head-bobbing backbeats, funky guitar voicings share the spotlight with melodic, bouncing basslines to create rich, indulgent instrumentation that only Rei Kimura's eminent croon could occupy. An amalgamation of the four's musicianship and passion produces shimmering ingenuity that truly, unambiguously, sounds of Moxie.
