Mighty Oaks

Eight years, two albums, touring across the world – and growing up along the way. When Ian Hooper, Craig Saunders, and Claudio Donzelli of Mighty Oaks worked on their first EP in 2010, the world was a different one. And they were different people. Fast forward to 2019, not much has changed and still, everything. The boys are fathers now, their lives in Berlin established, and they played some of the most important festivals worldwide and hundreds of live shows.

The Berlin based indie-folk band comprised of Ian Hooper (US), Claudio Donzelli (Italy), and Craig Saunders (UK) writes honest, authentic and emotionally driven songs. Acoustic guitars and mandolins form the centre of their sound, layers of electric guitars create space and depth, rounded off through solid bass lines and the heartbeat of a simple drum. The music sets the perfect scene for the lyrics, which often draw their inspiration from the Pacific Northwest, the birthplace of Hooper. Set amidst these wonderful landscapes come tales of love, loss and the beauty of all that surrounds.

After their first, critically acclaimed and successful debut album “Howl”, Mighty Oaks released their second full-length record Dreamers in spring 2017. After months of extensive touring in North America and Europe the band was quick to follow up with yet another EP – Storm was released in November 2017. In 2018, while writing on their third album, the band has retreated to the studio to properly re-record their first EP Driftwood Seat, which was released in February 2019.
