Micah Brown’s music derives from the blues, rock-n-roll, and outlaw country that drenched the garage while wrenching with dad growing up. Micah has quickly made his ever-broadening audience take notice of his brash and unique, dexterous way around a fretboard. He’s also become known for his milky smooth, deft command of his voice, using it to express passion, emotion, and positive inspiration. Amongst his peers, the recognition has included “2012 Best Folk Winner” and “2011 Best Live Acoustic Winner” the past two years at the Orange County Music Awards in Anaheim, CA. Micah is also a two-time Pier Award nominee. Micah’s sophomore release, The Isle of Her, has received multiple Album of the year nominations, quickly garnering an underground following of passionate, grass-roots fans.
Over the past 18 months, Micah had the enormous honor of playing shows with a variety of renowned bands. He joined the Dirty Heads for appearances at the 2012 KROQ Weenie Roast and SmokeOut Festival, alongside legends such as Coldplay, Incubus, Pennywise, The Offspring, and Sublime with Rome. Micah’s solo career included performances at Doheny Days, SxSW in Austin, and California Roots Festival last year, on billings with Weezer, Ben Harper, Ziggy Marley, CAKE, Donavon Frankenreiter, G. Love, SOJA, The Expendables, Iration, and many more. Micah blends rootsy americana, folk, and blues, with rock, soul, and even a little reggae thrown in for good measure. He can perform a standout acoustic solo set, or bring the band along to create a more full, driving musical force on stage, which features his platinum-award-winning engineer/producer Lewis Richards and professional surfer/violinist Jennifer Argenti.
