Melissa Oakvik

Twenty-four year old singer-songwriter and pianist Melissa Oakvik was born and raised in the Twin Cities, Minnesota. Her love for family and friends on her home turf provides inspiration for her strong, R&B-laced vocal style and passionate compositions, which range from folksy ballad to summertime funk. Melissa has collaborated with regional musicians including Laura Caviani, Pete Whitman, Adi Yeshaya, and Joe Horton in No Bird Sing. She has appeared at venues like Fine Line Café, Minnesota Music Café, Toby Keith’s, and Rollie’s Bar & Grill. In 2011, KARE 11 TV featured her talent for a segment on the Twin Cities’ “Pianos on Parade” street exhibition. Refresh your aural palette with a heartfelt collection of original American songs. Catch Melissa Oakvik’s debut EP, Peace of Mind, online or at an upcoming performance.
