Maria and the Coins are marking a new chapter. With the release of their newest single "Something Good,” the band is ushering in a new era of high-energy indie pop rock while still maintaining the lyrical integrity, powerhouse vocals, and early 2000s-esque style that defines their sound. Their shows play out almost like a pop musical and you’re the lead character trying to find your way home. Frontwoman Maria Coyne chronicles her struggles with depression and anxiety in a vulnerable yet resilient way that leaves the listener hopeful about what can happen when we fight for the light within ourselves and find joy in the little corners of the universe. The result is a tapestry of big-picture pop anthems, soulful ballads, and driving-with-the-windows-down-belt-your-heart-out bangers.
Maria and the Coins have opened for Christina Perri, Betty Who, JP Saxe, and Haley Reinhart. Their debut album Forward received local and national radio play with the lead single “Movin’ On” gaining traction on streaming playlists across the globe. The Minneapolis-based fivesome will spend 2024 releasing new music and touring in the US.
