Machinnes

Transplanted from the middle of Sweden to the middle of the United States, Matt has been influenced by the cultural connections of his past. Immersion in the burgeoning Minneapolis techno scene has created a sound equal parts Ghostly, Poker Flat and Kompakt, yet distinct. After many years of DJing and playing live sets in the local scene he co-founded a new record label Central Recordings and released a couple tracks which went on to be played and charted by DJs such as Claus Bachor and Maxx-T. Starting out in the late ’90s producing and releasing tracks on MP3.com Matt’s sound has been refined through the fire of the demanding local scene. As a founding member of Sound Scene collective he’s helped organize shows for DJs and musicians from around the world such as Baby Ford, Bruno Pronsato, Dan Bell, etc. Embracing technology, collaboration and new ideas is the cornerstone to the Machinnes sound. The tried and true formula of patience, perseverance and persistence has helped produce harder beats, more complex rhythms and catchier bass lines. If music is a narrative, a communication between the artist and the listener, then Machinnes’ music speaks of hope and hardship. In the midst of all your problems there is still a reason to dance and love. From the midst of dark soundscapes and glitchy beats forms a delicious melody that lifts you from the deep.
