Started in 2008, Lumpy began as a "solo project" by award-winning songwriter Bryan Highhill. "Solo project" is in quotes because many of Bryan's friends have been featured on the recordings over the years. After moving back to Minnesota in 2011, Bryan became (over)active in the music scene, burning the candle at all ends performing with Sonny Knight and the Lakers, Black Market Brass, PaviElle, Hennepin County Millionaires, and many others. After releasing 4 full-length albums as well as various EPs and singles, Bryan finally formed the band in 2022, playing the first Lumpy show 14 years after starting the project. The band includes cool guys Nate Knutson on guitar, Bob Beahen on drums, and Rocky Schulze on bass. Musically, Lumpy is like a sponge that has absorbed elements of indie rock, pop, ska, and reggae. The songs are original, unique, catchy, and upbeat, ready for you to sing along whether you know the lyrics or not.
