Lotus Eater has a distinct blend of bright and bouncy indie-folk, rock and pop. Lotus Eater’s new album shows a young band that has fully arrived with a sound a song-craft that stands apart on the indie music land- scape. Frontman Andrew Smith (vocals, guitar, keyboard) leads up the four-piece band that includes Aaron Hays (drums, vocals), Mitch Schumer (bass, vocals), and Nick Kiekenapp (guitars, vocals). Together they create a seizing soundscape of radio-friendly songs that display the vast range of Lotus Eater’s musicality from the technical and synth-soaked space waltz of “TLTD-S123,” to the undressed rock ditty, “Red Dog.”
