For over ten years, the music of Lolo’s Ghost has been heard on countless stages in the Twin Cities area. The leader and songwriter of this band of gypsies is James Loney, a Twin Cities musician for over 30 years who's recorded at Paisley Park Studios and even had Hollywood knock on his door, with his music featured in two different major motion pictures (Just Write with Jeremy Piven and Lucky Town Blues with Kirsten Dunst).
The quality of the songwriting and musicianship also caught the attention of founding member of Prince and the Revolution, Matt Fink. He went on to produce Lolo’s Ghost first album and has preformed live with them on several occasions.
Their live show is the heart and soul that makes them a great band. James has surrounded himself with the cream of the crop musicians. Members in the band also belong to other top bands in the area like the Flamin’ Ohs, Run Westy Run, Curtis A, The Steeles….
At one of their live shows, it’s not unusual to have prominent musicians join them on stage such as Robert Wilkinson (Flamin’ Ohs), Mark Joseph (the Big Wu), Annie Mack, and even Dan Israel.
