DJ, producer Larry Peace delivers grooves that fall within the sweet spot of chill and deep house, old-school funk, and tech house with the occasional infusion of progressive and tribal house elements (which he dubs “tribal funk”). It is this sonic combination that provides each Peacemode remix/release with a good balance of the old and new resulting in a funky, unique sound.
The former DJ for the late, great Prince credits Minneapolis (city of Purple Rain) as the root of his funky side, in addition to the deep house sounds of Chicago and the UK. Peace names Basement Jaxx, Cajmere, MK, Paul Johnson, Ralphi Rosario, Todd Terry and Edwards alongside Cube Guys, EDX, Mark Knight, Nora En Pure, and Prok + Fitch as idols and influences. Such a colorful palette of inspiration clearly defines the sound of Peacemode music. “May U find peace in the groove.”
