Kison

Hailing from Northern Minnesota, Kison (real name Kim Swanson) is surprisingly becoming known not only for her natural singing ability, but her songwriting as well. Kison (KEE-SIN) was born in 1984, in the small town of Warren. Growing up on a farm, one would assume her genre to be country; on the contrary, her sound can be described as Teena Marie meets Adele, with a touch of Classical influence.

In 2011, Kison joined Minneapolis production company Castlehouse Worldwide, headed up by producer King Karnov. She released her sophomore album, Part Hero, Part Woman in May 2012, featuring guest artist Toki Wright, production from the innovative King Karnov, and GRAMMY award winning producers Rahki, and 88-Keys. The album is available on iTunes. In addition to her album, in May, she also released singles with GRAMMY award winning producer Symbolyc One (Beyonce’s “Best Thing I Never Had”, Kanye West’s “POWER”) and Australian heavy hitter, M-Phazes.
