King Tuesday is a band that seems to create its own genre. With one foot firmly planted in rock, and the other dancing between alternative, jam, blues and hip hop, King Tuesday delivers a sound that is uniquely its own. King Tuesday released their first studio EP, Wishes, on March 27, 2010, which featured a cameo appearance from Big Jess of the Unknown Prophets. By the turn of the millennium Andy “Benny” Benson and Joe “Kontrol” Ferguson were playing the underground Minneapolis Hip-Hop scene with DJ Bill “E” Goat as the trio “Shades of Darkness”. Relying on a large fan base and playful lyrical stylings, they quickly came into their own. As time progressed though they began to crave a richer sound and sought out a live band.

Guitar player Ryan Musch-Pearce and drummer Ryan “Shorty” Shortridge had been playing together since high school and when the opportunity arose to shift their musical direction, they gladly jumped on it. With stylings of Jimi Hendrix and STS9, these two brought sounds to the band that most had never paired with Hip Hop. With the addition of veterans: bass player Rob Parkos and the lovely and talented vocalist Chelsea Csargo, King Tuesday had created its sound. King Tuesday was formed in the fall of 2007. Playing a steady regiment of live shows and festivals throughout the Twin Cities & Upper midwest, King Tuesday has always and will continue to bring a high energy spirit along with well conceived music and positive, intelligent lyrical content.
