Kele is the solo project of English singer and songwriter Kele Okereke, who is widely recognized for being the front-man of the alternative rock band Bloc Party. His first single, “Tenderoni”, is scheduled to be released on June 14, 2010, followed by the release of the full-length album titled, “The Boxer”, on June 21, 2010 on Wichita and Polydor Records (UK) as well as Glassnote Records (US). Although based in London, UK, the album was produced mainly in New York with producer XXXchange, known for his work in the hip hop group Spank Rock. Okereke sees “Kele” as a way for him to embrace his interest in dance music. “I’ve been into clubbing for years. I’ve said from the beginning I’m into dance, it gets me excited and I think this record is going to go some way to prove that to people, hopefully.” -Kele Okereke
