Kataklysm

Canadian Death Metal legends Kataklysm officially formed in the fall of 1991, they released a now classic demo called Death Gate Cycle Of Reincarnation in 1992 that got world attention and a record deal with Germany's Nuclear Blast records, the band signed in 1993 and immediately released the demo on CD format and added the bonus track "The Orb Of Uncreation" which resulted in the creation of the critically acclaimed CD, The Mystical Gate Of Reincarnation.

World praise and recognition ...a new style and influence were born: the Northern Hyperblast ...and that was just the beginning! In 1995 the band released their first album, Sorcery, which quickly propelled Kataklysm as one of the new leaders and forces to be reckoned with in the extreme metal scene! The band followed up again with another hard-hitting assault in 1996 with the release of their second full-length album, Temple Of Knowledge, accompanied with a video for the track "The Awakener", which resulted in headliner tours and a bright future ahead.

With releases like Northern Hyperblast Live, a limited edition CD, and the controversial third album, Victims Of This Fallen World, in 1998, the band showed diversity and explored new territory in which Kataklysm established a new sound that soon that would pave the way for new classics to come! In 2000, Kataklysm struck with a deadly weapon and released a fourth album, The Prophecy (Stigmata Of The Immaculate), putting the band on a new course and new horizons, that critics called one of the most devastating releases in extreme music in years.

In 2001, a classic extreme album was born entitled Epic (The Poetry Of War), with a melodic edge backed by extreme roaring power. The band's fifth album has become Kataklysm's finest hour, leaving critics stupified and the world begging for more! And the band delivered. Kataklysm are at the top of their form and have evolved into a powerhouse that will crush all and leave nothing but Shadows & Dust for the mortals to beg!

2004 was nothing short of a phenomenal year for Kataklysm with the release of the band's seventh album, Serenity In Fire. Triumphal festival shows and winning the Canadian Indie Music Awards completed a highly successful year in the band's history. After putting out In The Arms Of Devastation, the band also began massive touring with the likes of Chimaira, Behemoth, and Dimmu Borgir, among others.

After releasing Prevail, Kataklysm invested blood, sweat, and tears in what will become a classic in the band`s history: Heaven's Venom boasts all the trademarks of the Canadians such as brutal blastbeats, ten-ton grooves, fierce vocals, and finest shredding plus earthshattering melodies and Scandinavian influences. The band's twelfth studio album, Waiting For The End To Come, was released in 2014. This album was recorded by guitarist and producer Jean Francois Dagenais and mixed by producer/engineer Zeuss.

In 2015 Of Ghosts And Gods demonstrated how - just like fine wine and an expert demolition crew - Kataklysm just keeps getting better with age. Thundering with newly fueled power from the shadows and dust of humanity's crumbling existence, Kataklysm returned triumphant with their fourteenth full-length studio album, Unconquered, on September 25, 2020!
