John Up Front

Blending classic rock, folk and blues into an original indie rock sound, John Up Front hails from Minneapolis, MN. Started by singer Keith Hovis and guitarist Ryan Dixon, the duo started jamming in a condemned building before eventually convincing bassist Sam Worms, drummer Alex Erdman and singer Christian Barden that heat in the dead of winter was a luxury and not a necessity for creating music. Inspired by great bands - but more importantly, incredible songwriters - like Radiohead, Josh Ritter, the Black Keys, the Beatles and the National, each member of John Up Front brings their own musical tastes to the group. The result is a sound that crosses genres and strives to ensure each song is a unique experience for audiences.
