IMPALA SOUND CHAMPIONS

Estaban (Steven) LaGrue and Dave Matta (Soul Summit) are the Impala Sound Champion DJ’s, the self-proclaimed “Cheech and Chong of the 45rpm game” and the co-proprietors of Impala Sound space in Chicago’s Rogers Park, where they run some really great alternative arts programming. Nothing but the best Soul, Funk, Nu-Soul and Breaks on nothing but vinyl. Vinyl only is quite a refreshing new take considering how out of hand it has become with being cute as the number one requirement for a DJ anymore, well maybe that and having the right stickers on your computer as you press play and get the crowd going one track at a time. Not these cats, they are purists and with strong backgrounds in the visual arts they are always sure to have some great work accompanying their music styles and performances.
