Please allow me to introduce you to The Blood Shot; the band and their music.
“Continuing the Minneapolis legacy of great rock from bands like Husker Du and The Replacements, The Blood Shot are the epitome of great American rock n' roll. “no pandering to any scene, no marketing slickness, just rock for rock's sake. “High energy, amazing riffs with a bit of that vintage Detroit feel.” -Hellride Music
The Blood Shot evolved from a garage rock project by singer/songwriter/guitarist Andrew Kereakos called The Electric Dreams of Howlin’ Andy Hound released by Garage D'or Recording Company. The Electric Dreams of Howlin’ Andy Hound was voted one of the ten best local LPs by Minneapolis Star Tribune and City Pages in 2001. The Blood Shot released two CDs on Garage D’or. The gritty, raw, hard, and heavy Wake Up And Die Right shows “them digging their Maiden as much as their Yardbirds” according to punk pioneer Terry Katzman. The Blood Shot's second release, the much heavier Straight Up proved them a real force to be reckoned with. Jay D. Zweifel manning the Doom Barrels , Dave Senn on Thunderwand and Spatula, and Andrew at the helm. The Blood Shot toured much of the Midwest including a West Coast tour through Missoula to Seattle and Portland; The Blood Shot became a tight road-worthy unit.
Appearing as a musical guest on Drinking With Ian, The Blood Shot were privileged to perform on the same stage at the famous First Avenue Nightclub where Prince's Purple Rain was shot. The Blood Shot have appeared on Twin Cities Muzique - The Review, demonstrating they can be as personable as... say the Young Ones. The Blood Shot self-release Caught in Fever on “Was It Weir/Was it not Weir” Records show them driving them deeper into a psycho-delic abyss. Live in studio, these tracks have a sound like the first releases of Black Sabbath and Iron Butterfly. It is perhaps because The Blood Shot recorded them on equipment of that same very era.
