HoneyDick

Though the name and album cover artwork may imply silly ribaldry, the punk ethos, aim, and execution of HoneyDick are more sophisticated than they let on. The simplified three-piece blueprint sews a tongue-in-cheek patch around musical spoonerisms of surf, anti-folk, alternative, and a bit of reggae. The lyrical messages put forth by vocalist and guitarist Kat are dark-humor reflections on scenester sociology and its underlying hipster misogyny. HoneyDick released its eight-song album in August 2020, aptly produced by drummer Rob Hagen, with Kirdan Wenger on bass and additional guitars.
