Holy Wave

Holy Wave is a band of multi-instrumentalists from Austin, TX. The band’s sound has evolved into a unique blend of sun baked surf-psychedelia. Holy Wave creates a brand of psych that brings to mind fellow Texans like The 13th Floor Elevators and modern contemporaries like The Black Angels and Night Beats, dyed in carefully constructed noise with an attention to detail echoing the work of shoegaze influences like My Bloody Valentine and Spectrum.

Holy Wave is originally from El Paso, Texas. There, an exceptional sort of friendship was forged between two bands from opposite sides of the mountain, who shared musical tastes and aspirations. Loyalty and brotherhood became the key features that would define the formation of Holy Wave.

A move across Texas to the city of Austin introduced the band to new philosophies on professionalism and creativity. Since the move to Austin 5 years ago, the band has performed extensively around the states including support for GOAT and Psychic Ills, Austin Psych Fest 3, 4, 5, appearances at SXSW and CMJ. The band will be releasing their second full-length record, RELAX, this Fall 2013 on Reverberation Appreciation Society label and Burger Records.
