Hollow Wood

With their debut LP Spirits scheduled to release in 2014, Hollow Wood offers a listener both the catchy familiar and the unexpected. At its core, most would classify Hollow Wood as a "folk" band, but they continue to evolve into a well tuned collective of heart, soul, and musical fluidity that inspires the ear of the listener. After one of its founding members successfully beat leukemia, the band found new inspiration for their debut album. And many of their songs reflect just that: overcoming obstacles, the love of life, and the uncertainty of the future. The emotionally charged journey that the tracks take a listener on is only rivaled by their live instrumentation that breathes new life into the status quo of their genre. Morgan Schuler of KEXP in Seattle writes, "Even now, I can remember being wrapped up in it as the crowd cheered, danced and clapped their way through the set."
